French tennis player Jules Marie, ranked 461st in the world, has spoken out about the inappropriate behavior displayed by 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic during training sessions.
Jules Marie on the Match Point show
When I was a sparring partner at Roland Garros, I played five times with Djokovic, and he was nasty all five times. You play on the edge with him. If you hit a ball 1.5m away from him, he doesn’t play it and looks at you like, ‘if you do it again, I'll kick you out’. At one point, I served a ball, and he didn't play it. He says to me, 'it's my coach who is supposed to serve'. So his coach serves, I hit the ball back, and he sends the ball 50 metres high. I don't know why... not nice at all.
The next tournament for Novak Djokovic will be the Masters in Miami, scheduled from March 18 to March 29.
Notably, at the Indian Wells tournament, Djokovic suffered a defeat to Dutch player Botic van de Zandschulp, marking his third consecutive loss at the age of 37. He previously lost to Italian Matteo Berrettini in Doha and to Germany's Alexander Zverev in the semifinals of the Australian Open.
Earlier, Novak Djokovic responded to the mass protests happening in Serbia.
