WBBL in jeopardy after Hobart lockdown

An out-of-the-blue three-day lockdown in Hobart has caused a rupture in the WBBL. Seven out of the eight WBBL squads are in the Tasmanian state and the WBBL had fixed four games through the weekend. However, it is still unclear how this will affect the schedule as the teams are right now not informed about the future approach and the schedule adjustments yet.

WBBL statement
We are currently working with the Tasmanian Government on options for the upcoming Weber WBBL 07 matches at Blundstone Arena, Hobart this weekend. All players, staff, and match officials in Tasmania for the Weber WBBL have received Covid-19 vaccinations and received the required negative Covid-19 test results. All are currently participating in training at Blundstone Arena or at team hotels. The league will provide further updates in due course.
