Yankees' Nestor Cortes shuts off Twitter account after backlash for making racist comments

New York Yankees' Nestor Cortes shut down his Twitter account after people shared screenshots of him using racial slurs, specifically the "N-word" ten years ago or so when he was 17-18 years old. Nestor apologized and said he didn't mean what he said back then and is issuing a mea culpa.

It's unacceptable. I could have managed myself better and said stuff differently. Those aren't the messages I want to send out. I deleted my Twitter to clean stuff up. Hopefully, I can make a better impact in the world for the people that look up to me to give a better example.
