San Francisco vs San Diego: Giants have a better chance of winning the second game of the series

The National League West Division rivals San Francisco and San Diego Padres began their first series in the new league. The Padres were stronger in the first game. Will the Giants be able to get revenge in the second game? There are a number of betting options at once. 

San Francisco get into the season

Gabe Kapler's team not only lost their first home game to San Diego (2-4), but also did not have the best start to the season. Also on home field, San Francisco played Miami, made a lot of mistakes and created their own problems, but eventually took the series 2-1 (6-5, 1-2, 3-2). The Giants had too good a season to start crashing the game right from the start of the new one. That's not San Francisco's style either. This team builds its baseball on defense.

Starting for the Giants on the pitching hill in game two against San Diego will be the very experienced Alex Cobb. The 34-year-old pitcher spent last season with the Los Angeles Angels and finished the championship with a 3.76 ERA and an 8-3 win-loss balance in 18 starts.

San Diego have won four in a row

Despite the injury to Fernando Tatis, the Padres are showing a very quality game in their opening league games. You can't gauge San Diego's quality by their opening series against Arizona, either, though, since they were a very weak opponent. The visiting Padres lost to the Diamondbacks in game one, but took the next three games 2-4, 3-0, 5-2, 10-5.

The pitcher for San Diego in the second game of the series with San Francisco will be Yu Darvish, the second 2020 National League pitcher after Trevor Bauer. Back then, though, the pitcher played for the Chicago Cubs. Last season, however, and his first with San Diego, Darvish did not fare well, going 8-11 in wins and losses and a 4.22 ERA.

Expert Betting Tips

The Giants and Padres series is one of the key ones this National League season. The teams understand that, of course, so it's sure to be a very hard-fought affair. In the second game, as in the first game, there will probably be few injuries, given the class of the pitchers' rotation. Well, San Francisco are likely to win this time around. The first encounter between the rivals in the season will consist of three games, and the Giants in case of the second defeat will simply lose their chances for the final success.

The prediction is for San Francisco to win the tie.
