The Nuggets have been playing like champions of late. Michael Malone's team has improved on defense, and their offense has been more than okay. The team has had 12 wins in their last 15 games. Denver made it to first place in the Western Conference standings, sharing it with Memphis.
In the last game, the Nuggets defeated Cleveland 121-108 at home. Denver was again very effective on both halves of the court.

After nearly hitting rock bottom, Darvin Ham's team came to their senses and won six of their previous seven games. In super attacking style, LeBron James and their team could beat Atlanta (130-121 and 130-114), Charlotte (121-115), Orlando (129-110) and Sacramento (136-134), and Miami (112-109) without LeBron. So far, those wins were enough for the Lakers to move up to 11th place in the Western Conference standings and cut their handicap from the play-in zone to one victory. But the situation for the California team no longer looks as hopeless as it did a few weeks ago.

The Lakers finally found their style, and it's no coincidence that they have now won five straight. Against Denver, however, LeBron James' team has little chance of success. The Nuggets are playing some of the league's best basketball right now. They are productive on both ends of the floor, defeating such strong opponents as Boston, the Clippers, and Cleveland. So Michael Malone's team can handle the Lakers as well.
