ENCE vs Complexity Prediction: Last Chance for the Americans

ESL Pro League Season 16 is a historically significant event for the world community, and we can't overestimate its importance. The champion title is more important than a prize pool (by the standards of CS:GO) of 823,000$. The tournament is unique in its system, namely in its duration. During the month, the participating teams will defend the banners of their organization. The tournament involves 24 teams, divided into four groups of 6 teams. The first-place team in their group will receive a slot in the quarterfinals. Second and third-place teams will go to the first round of the playoffs, and the rest will go home.

Group stage matches will be played in a round-robin system (everyone plays everyone for points in the group), and group stage matches will be played in a BHO3 format. Playoffs will be a single elimination system (to one defeat) in a BO3 format, grand final BO5.

ENCE: the Last Match

Until recently, ENCE performed well, was confident in their form, and showed good CS. With the arrival of such a strong player as Maden, the team's game became more confident and stable. Steadily, taking match after match, they were moving up in the world rankings. Playing a tier1 event, they always reach the playoffs and the finals, but often in the deep stage of the tournament, their opponent turns out to be too strong and does not give up the trophy. But, by the end of the last playing season, the team gave up too much and stopped showing confident play, which led to a change in the roster. In theory, the arrival of Valde and SunPayus looks like a good decision.

The ENCE team started this tournament very well. In the first match, no one dropped out of their five statistically, and the newcomers to the team showed that they were not here by chance. But the following matches did not go according to plan. Neither against Heroic nor MOUZ, the guys couldn't play at all. The supporters were failing their positions, the pulling was never on time, the information in the teamspeak was irrelevant, and that's why they couldn't make substitutions. Burnt-out players were cursing and yelling at each other in the air. It felt like the team didn't understand what the captain wanted from them, and the captain didn't know how to explain it. In the game against Astralis, where ENCE lost their playoff chances, they didn't win a map either. The team players themselves are very high level and experienced, so the games seem close, but playing together when conflict after conflict is impossible. The guys need to work on their mental state and come to the next tournament with a positive attitude.

The last change in the lineup was the arrival of Valdemar valde Bjørn Vangså and Alvaro SunPayus Garcia as a sniper.

Complexity: Giving Fight to the Favorite?

The American organization Complexity signed the backbone of the team Extra Salt with the coach and several diversified players in the hope of development and long-term prospects. Of course, it did not bring quick positive results, and the team could not compete with the top teams in Europe. Also, in their region, they could not gain a foothold in the ranks of the top team. Nevertheless, because of their partnership agreements, there is a place in almost every event. Today the organization is gradually moving away from the American squad. For the new season, the team was strengthened by a European sniper - hallzerk- stronger than junior in this role.

The Complexity team played their first match over the top in this tournament and earned a win. They again proved to everyone that they could and will punish for underestimation. Yes, the players did not fail and played confidently individually and as a team. The second match was also relatively easy for Complexity. But here, the game against Heroic showed the main weakness of the guys: they are lost in the game when something does not go according to plan, and due to lack of experience, they simply can not find a solution during the match. And the MOUZ team took advantage of that weakness to win. Thus, Complexity, which had a great start to the tournament, lost almost all of the chances for the playoffs. Even if they win today, it's not sure that they will have any chance at all. Complexity showed themselves well and did an excellent job throughout the tournament, revealing their potential. But, most likely, we'll say goodbye to them in the EPL S16.
