Outsiders vs Team Liquid Prediction: Team 1 to Struggle at the Tournament's Beginning

Outsiders enter their first tournament after a successful IEM Rio Major 2022. The Jame squad had a great fall, winning ESL Challengers Rotterdam 2022 and a major in Brazil. All five players were in great form, and the team's sharpshooter won the tournament's MVP. 

Judging by the IEM Rio Major stats, the team's average implementation of the defensive side was one of only three competitors to win more than half of the rounds for the offensive side (53%). They had problems with pistol rounds (40% win rate) but good numbers in the "five for four situations" (80%), "won opening duels" (56%), and "grenade damage" (26 units per round). 

Outsiders prefer to perform slowly, more often building a playstyle from successfully occupied positions. FL1T and fame are in terrific condition, as they can turn a round upside down with automatic rifles. But the team has one tradition: starting the first day of the tournament is tough. There will be little time to swing at the tournament from BLAST, but they will do their best to end the 2022 season on a merry note.

The Liquid started playing with YEKINDAR over the summer and returned to the global CS:GO elite. Since IEM Cologne 2022, Team Liquid has steadily made the playoffs of the biggest tournaments and made it to the semifinals. Only in the Rio major, the team failed: in the match against Team Spirit, the team suffered a close defeat and gave up the game in front of a loud Brazilian audience. 

Team Liquid is dependent on the individual performance of the Latvian riffler. YEKINDAR at the IEM Rio Major 2022 played unusually weak relative to his level, scoring a 1.00 personal rating for the tournament. Mareks noted that the team needed to be in better shape and promised to improve at the following competitions. 

At the last BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022, Team Liquid only lost in the semifinals, having beaten Natus Vincere and G2 before that. Statistically, this team did not stand out, but they dropped only in the pistol rounds (43%) - but each victory in them is guaranteed to increase the advantage. So we should pay attention to the Liquid because if YEKINDAR recovered from the failure and regained the game form, their opponent would struggle.

Expert Betting Tips

The Russian team is an a priori favorite because they came to the World Finals as the reigning champion. However, they played their last official match more than a month ago, so it will be complicated to show the champion's level of play at once. At the same time, YEKINDAR knows very well how the opponents' squad works and what the opponent's calls and actions are based on. Considering that Outsiders has also had a tough start to the previous events, the series will not be a one-way tie. It's hard to predict the outcome of the entire encounter, but the first card should go to Team Liquid.
