Team Liquid vs LOUD Prediction: The Europeans look more confident

Team Liquid

Team Liquid is an absolute favorite of any LAN tournament. The Liquid has missed only two LANs out of seven, and LOCK//IN is the only one where the team finished outside the top eight: in Brazil, they took 17th–32nd place.

Their performance at VCT EMEA showed their improving form. In the opening match, Liquid lost to Team Vitality and then lost only to NaVi and FNATIC for several weeks. In the playoffs, they failed to FNATIC only in the final of the top bracket. The Liquid took revenge and won the grand final with a score of 3:1, becoming the first VCT EMEA champion, demonstrating improvements since the end of March.

The team hopes to repeat this triumph in LA and finally get out of the shadow of FNATIC. They were ahead of FNATIC only twice at international tournaments: at Champions 2021, where Team Liquid was one round ahead, and at Masters Reykjavík 2022, where FNATIC played with two reserves at the last moment.

LOUD

The current Champions 2022 winners lost two players at the beginning of this season: Sacy and PANcada, who moved to the Sentinels, which was the most unexpected change in the lineup during the off–season. Young and promising Brazilian talents came to the team – tuyz and cauanzin.

During the LOCK//IN LOUD competition, the Brazilians again showed their strength and competitiveness. They got four consecutive victories, including a challenging 2:1 game against the OpTic team, and achieved the grand final. 

Nevertheless, at the Tokyo Masters, the team could not get a single victory over Evil Geniuses and EDward Gaming and finished the tournament after only two games.

Some analysts criticized LOUD for choosing maps in Tokyo, noting the lack of use of the Harbor/Viper strategy and the limited participation of aspas star player in the role of Jett. Is LOUD's performance at Masters Tokyo just an accidental failure, or is it a signal of more serious problems? As the match with DRX showed, there are some difficulties. The Brazilians took their map incredibly hard and gave the other two away without a fight.
