Formula 1. Canada Grand Prix: Verstappen To Finish 1st

Last weekend Leclerc failed to finish the race, Perez overtook him in the individual ranking, and Max Verstappen once again came first. What events does Formula 1 have in store for us this time? What is the best bet? Let's find out today.

Canada Grand Prix

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix was a great success for the Red Bull team. Both pilots took the top places on the podium, thanks to which the Bulls have no equal in the World Constructors Championship. Ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, the Dutchman has 150 points, the Mexican 129, and the Monegasque 116.

Verstappen won both Canadian Grand Prix free practices. Max set the fastest time, 1:14.127. Leclerc was second (+0.081) and Sainz third (+0.225).

"It’s great to be back in Canada: a circuit that is demanding, bumpy, and full of curbs, so it’s definitely a challenge for these new cars. I’ve enjoyed the first practice day and we have been capable to progress well through the two sessions. It got very tricky at times due to the strong and gusty wind, but we managed to complete all our programs without any issues. "It was a positive day, of course, there are always aspects to analyze to try to find a complete balance, but overall today it was a good start to the weekend. The softer compound is always the most difficult to fully exploit, so I think there is still time to devote to this compound to extract its full potential, but also this weekend we have a competitive car and this is positive. If it rains in qualifying, it’s the same for everyone, we just have to face it. It is good to see that for Sunday we should have a competitive car, so whatever happens in Qualifying we know we can then eventually recover.”

Max Verstappen is the clear favorite to win the upcoming race, and it is clear why. The Dutchman started the weekend confidently, plus after winning in Azerbaijan he will be on a roll.
