Two wins in the last two home games haven't lifted Atlético out of last place in the Brasileirão, but the Goianos can now see a light at the end of the tunnel. In its upcoming game, the Dragon will travel to Belo Horizonte to face Cruzeiro with the victory in mind.

The Goiânia team, who had yet to win a home game in the league, beat Internacional and Juventude in two consecutive rounds at the Antônio Accioly and renewed its hope of escaping relegation. In the most recent fixture, Atlético defeated Juventude 2-1, with the winning goal coming in the last minute of the added time through a penalty from Alejo Cruz. The Goianos occupy the 20th and last place with 18 points, six less than Fluminense, the first team out of the Z4. With the competition entering its final third, Atlético needs to secure points because, at this stage, any defeat brings the club closer to the Série B.
