Cagliari vs Bari Prediction: Who will turn out to be stronger?

Cagliari is a team that played in Serie A last season but finished 18th in the standings, making them move to Italy's second-strongest division. Not to say that they dominated at this level either, but they finished the campaign with a four-match winning streak that saw them climb up to fifth place, making it through to the relegation playoffs. The Red and Blue beat Venezia 2:1 to start the campaign, then beat Parma 3:2 and 2:0.

Bari

Bari last played in the elite of Italian football in the 2010/11 season, after which they managed to slip even to the country's fourth-ranked division. In 2019, they returned to Serie C, last year to Serie B, and now intend to make their way into Serie A. The Red and Whites have been particularly potent in the second part of the current championship, with nine wins, five draws, and only two defeats in the last 16 rounds. That was good enough for them to qualify for the promotion playoffs and the semi-finals, where they beat Südtirol on aggregate in two games.

Bari has been significantly more confident than Cagliari all season long and finished above them in the standings, but the opponents have not fared so well at the end of the season. The Red and Whites have won just twice in their last six meetings, and they only beat Südtirol because of a regulation line that allows the team with the higher number of points to progress to the next round of the playoffs. At the same time, the team is in great form right now, and they have won their previous four home games exclusively. As a result, we suggest betting on a Cagliari win.

Cagliari has not only been beating everybody at home recently, but they also play extremely entertaining and productive. In their four previous home matches, they scored 14 goals (3.50 per game on average), and the Red and Blue scored at least two goals each time. Despite the final status of the match, it is unlikely that the hosts will change their mind, so the best option for the prediction seems to be a total over 2.5, and we should look at the bet on individual Cagliari total over 1.5.
