The Egyptian team can be considered the main underdog on the African continent lately. The team lost twice to Senegal in important matches. First, Ehab Galal's side lost to Senegal on penalties in the final of the African Cup of Nations (0-0, 2-4) to squander the trophy, and then, in the knock-out stages for qualification to the 2022 World Cup, again on penalties (1-1, 1-3).
