Trinidad and Tobago's chances of finishing at the top of Group B standings in the FIFA World Cup Concacaf qualifiers look bleak, but not beyond saving. A realistic option for them at the moment is to aim for second place and hope they finish as one of the two best group runners-up in the competition, which will get them to compete in the inter-confederation play-offs.
Dwight Yorke's men began the qualifying campaign on a disappointing note, failing to win their first two games. A goalless draw against Curacao was then followed by a 2-0 away defeat to Jamaica - their opponents in the upcoming encounter. They managed to stop their run of bad results with a first win against Bermuda, securing a 3-0 away victory.
Instead of making it two wins on the bounce, the Soca Warriors salvaged a point in a 1-1 draw against Curacao in their recent qualifier match. Despite the result, they did show some fighting spirit.
Trinidad and Tobago: Team News
Head coach Dwight Yorke has introdued five new faces to the Trinidad and Tobago squad for the two remaining FIFA World Cup Concacaf qualifiers fixtures. New York Red Bulls forward Roald Mitchell has received his maiden call-up to the senior national team.
Other names, including Daniel David, Isaiah Garcia, and Lindell Sween, have also been added to the 26-man squad. Veteran goalie Marvin Phillip, who has made 92 appearances for the senior national team, is also one of Yorke's inclusions.
In the injury room, Crystal Palace's Rio Cardines and AS Trencin's Molik Jesse Khan will not take part in this competition. Don't expect to see Jabari St Hillaire (Defence Force), Justin Obikwu (Lincoln City), and Isaiah Lee (La Horquetta Rangers) as they've been left out of the squad.

Jamaica still have some work to do if they still dream of finishing at the summit of Group B in the FIFA World Cup Concacaf qualifiers. A lot can happen in the remaining two games, and having a one-point lead at the top is not much. This means they can't afford slip-ups and will need to pick up three points in all of their games.
The Reggae Boyz, however, began the qualifying competition on a positive note. Their first two games against Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago resulted in victories, outscoring them 6-0. However, their winning streak came to an end in a 2-0 defeat against Curacao.
Steve McClaren's men didn't let that result affect their performance in their recent match against Bermuda, as they thrashed the Caribbean island nation 4-0 at home. This marked their third win in the last four qualifying games, highlighting their impressive form.
Jamaica: Team News
Jamaica has recalled Demarai Gray to the squad. The 29-year-old Birmingham City forward has not been involved in the last four qualifying games, and there's a high probability he will get playing time. Another inclusion is that of Rico Henry, who has earned his first call-up.
Head coach Steve McClaren will be without Hull City's Kasey Palmer. The 29-year-old is ruled out with a knee injury and won't be available for the remaining two games against Trinidad and Tobago and Curacao.
Joining him is AS Roma winger Leon Bailey, who is ruled out with a hamstring injury. In fact, Bailey has missed four qualifying games for his senior national team, and it's still to be seen whether he will be available for the final match in this competition.
🔖 Probable Starting XI (4-2-3-1): Blake; Leigh, Pinnock, King, Lembikisa; De Cordova-Reid; Hayden; Cephas, Dixon, Russell; Nicholson.
⛔️ Out: Kasey Palmer (knee injury), Leon Bailey (hamstring injury).
👤 Head coach: Steve McClaren.
