Hertha Berlin vs VfB Stuttgart Prediction, Betting Tips & Odds │6 MAY, 2023

Hertha Berlin, currently in the Bundesliga's bottom division, will host fellow underdog Stuttgart at the Olympiastadion on Saturday. The two teams are separated by six points. Stuttgart has moved up to 15th place as a result of a string of successful matches, while Hertha has fallen to the bottom of the table after suffering their fourth straight defeat the previous time out.

After four straight losses, the home side has accrued only 22 points from. Schwarz was fired in April as the team desperately tried to right its wrongs, but Dardai (the current coach) hasn't been able to keep the ship above water so far, losing both of his matches. Before champions Bayern Munich defeated them 2-0 last weekend at the Allianz Arena, Werder Bremen handed them a 4-2 defeat at home in his first game in charge. Time is running out for Berlin to stage a last-ditch escape with only four games left.

The form of Hertha Berlin makes Stuttgart the favourite.

After Sandro Schwarz was fired from his position as Hertha Berlin manager last month, Pal Dardai returned to the Olympiastadion for a third time, but the new manager has so far been unable to reverse the situation.

In fact, Dardai has presided over two defeats since rejoining the team, with a 4-2 setback at Werder Bremen coming before last weekend's 2-0 loss at Bayern Munich, making Hertha's most recent four games losses.

With four games remaining and an eight-game losing streak that has included two draws and six losses since the Old Lady's last triumph, they are now six points from safety.

Over the course of their previous 15 Bundesliga games, Hertha Berlin only managed to win two of them, going on to endure 11 losses and hand out at least three goals eight times. Hertha are on track to collapse into the second division for the first time since 2012 after giving up 11 goals in their last three games, including five in a humiliating thrashing at the hands of relegation rivals Schalke 04.

Kelian Nsona and Rune Jarstein have been long-term absentees for Hertha Berlin, and Tjark Ernst is anticipated to miss Saturday's match due to illness. Dardai has lvery limited options at his disposal because Kevin Prince Boateng, Tolga Cigerci, Marton Dardai, Stevan Jovetic, and Marco Richter are all out injured.

Right-back Jonjoe Kenny, a former player for Everton, will continue to start for Hertha, with Florian Niederlechner and Dodi Lukebakio likely to start in attack.

Hertha Berlin possible starting lineup:

Christensen; Kenny, Rogel, Uremovic, Plattenhardt; Ngankam, Tousart, Boetius, Mittelstadt; Lukebakio, Niederlechner

It is prudent to state that Stuttgart has benefited from a recent managerial switch since Sebastian Hoeness took Bruno Labbadia's place at the start of April. Labbadia was fired with the team anchored to the bottom of the standings after a record of one victory in 12 Bundesliga games and seven losses in nine games at the end of that run. However, Stuttgart hasn't lost a league game since Hoeness took over, earning eight out of a possible 12 points to allay relegation concerns at Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Stuttgart defeated Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1 last weekend after upsetting relegation rivals VfL Bochum 3-2 earlier in the season. However, they lost Wednesday's DFB-Pokal semifinal match against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Reds also drew with Borussia Dortmund and Augsburg before those victories.

Stuttgart will be hoping to put further pressure on Hertha while strengthening their own survival quest. Stuttgart has also significantly improved on the road recently, losing just one of their past four away league games after failing to win any of their first 13.

Stuttgart is concerned about Konstantinos Mavropanos' health after the former Arsenal center-back was forced off during Wednesday's cup loss to Frankfurt.

Stuttgart possible starting lineup:

Bredlow; Zagadou, Anton, Ito; Vagnoman, Karazor, Endo, Coulibaly; Silas, Guirassy, Tomas

Currently going through a difficult moment, Hertha Berlin is in danger of dropping into the second division for the first time since 2012. Stuttgart, on the other hand, has generated buzz under new manager Sebastian Hoeness and, given their recent run of success, may be able to keep their top-flight status. With a victory over the bottom-dwellers, they can keep their winning streak going.

A win for the away side is expected in this fixture with potential scoreline of 1-2 or 1-3.
