Lesotho vs Zambia Prediction: The defending champions are the favorite

On Sunday, the King Zwelithini Stadium will play host to the final match of the 2023 COSAFA Cup, which will feature Lesotho facing off against Zambia, defending champions of the tournament.

Lesotho - set their sight on their first title

The offensive performance of the Lesotho Crocodiles has been reliable, as they have scored in each of the four games they have played thus far. Lesotho started off their season with a 2-0 win over Mauritius on July 7, and just three days later, on July 10, they edged out Mozambique 1-0 thanks to a goal from Neo Mokhachane in the first half.

For the second time, and the first time since a humiliating loss to Zimbabwe in 2000, Jelusic's side has advanced to the final of the COSAFA Cup. On Sunday, Lesotho will be hoping to make history, but in order to do so, they will have to face the formidable obstacle of competing against the favorites of the tournament, Zambia. Zambia are undefeated in 11 of their last 13 matches against Lesotho since their first meeting in April 1972.

Zambia - hoping to continue their dominance

It is yet another significant step in Zambia's attempt to maintain their dominance over the Crocodiles of Lesotho. Zambia enter into this matchup as the favorites since in their five previous matchups against Lesotho, they have recorded four victories and only one loss. After not keeping a clean sheet in their previous matches, Chipolopolo will need to be on high alert at the back.

With the exception of 2021, when they were eliminated in the group stage, Zambia has made it to the finals of the Southern Africa competition four times in the last five years.
