American club Philadelphia Union will face Mexican side Mazatlan in the quarterfinals of the Leagues Cup. This will be the first ever meeting between these two clubs in the Leagues Cup.
Philadelphia Union edged out FC Cincinnati in the last match to progress into the Quarterfinals, while Mazatlan defeated Cruz Azul on penalties to also book her place in this round.
Philadelphia Union
Philadelphia Union have been a different team in the Leagues Cup than they had been in the MLS this season. Despite winning back-to-back matches in the MLS prior to the Leagues Cup opener, their stats are still regarded as very poor. In their opening group match they defeated CF Montreal 2-0 and in the next round, they lost 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Cruz Azul in regular time. Mazatlan FC

In their opening match of the Leagues Cup, they lost 1-0 to New England Revolution and then in the second match, they defeated Nashville 2-0.
