Last season was a disappointing one for Union. Union is doing well in friendlies ahead of the new season. Yes, they were beaten 4:0 by Lyon last time out, but before that, they had drawn once and won three times. Here and in the upcoming clash, they have a good chance of at least not losing. Real Sociedad have only won twice in pre-season, both against Asian opposition, and have lost all three of their friendlies with European clubs.
Union had severe problems with results last season, but the performance in matches involving the Berliners was quite good. In pre-season, they continue to delight us with their goal-scoring prowess, having scored and conceded 36 goals in their last seven matches (an average of 5.14 per game) - an unusually high result.
