First, Toronto defeated Carolina (5-2) and then started their road trip with a 5-4 shootout win over Ottawa.

The Islanders will play their first game after a tough California road trip, so they are rightly viewed as the underdog. In addition, the H2H statistics with the Islanders in recent years are on the Leafs' side. Most likely, the game will be productive. Although the Islanders are one of the lowest-scoring teams of the season, four of their last five games ended with a TO (5.5), as have five of Toronto's last six games.
