Daria Kasatkina vs Nuria Parrizas-Diaz Prediction: Daria is an overwhelming favorite

The US Open remains just a few weeks away and before that, we have to go through the motions of some pre-US Open tournaments. As usual, a lot is at stake, be it the prize money, ranking, or even the preparation for the Open itself. Daria easily pulled through against Magdalena Frech in the first round, winning 6-3, 6-2. Daria did a great job of extracting a 30-17 receiving points advantage, taking advantage of Frech’s rather weak serve game. This comfortable win won’t be the part and parcel during the US Open where much more effective servers will be on display.

Kasatkina won the Silicon Valley Classic a couple of tournaments ago, but then lost her way a bit. However, she is going to enter as a top-ten seed in the US Open and will have a huge chance of making a deep run.

Nuria comes into the game after defeating Harriet Dart 6-2, 6-4 in the first round. In that game, Nuria had a a strong service game, eking out a 48-35 advantage and tied for receiving points with 36 each. She had a decent first serve win% but the second serve win% of 40 was rather not so encouraging. Nuria has had a strong year but slipped in the second half after being ranked 45 and as of now has slipped below the 60 rankings, losing in the first rounds mostly after entering as a Qualifier.

Daria and Nuria have met once and Daria beat Nuria in two sets during the Quarter-Final of Gippsland Trophy.

While Nuria has made her mark as a top Qualifier in many tournamnets, Daria has played at whole another level and has beaten much more elite players than Nuria. There is no doubt that she will enter as the favorite here and Parrizas-Diaz will have her hands full here. I don’t believe Nuria will be able to even take a set.
