Diane Parry vs. Veronika Kudermetova Prediction: Kudermetova To Continue Her Charge Towards Another Final

Parry led 5-0 in the first set when the Italian won three games in a row and saved four set points to stay in the match. The Frenchwoman, though, maintained serve in the ninth game to take the opening set.

Parry also broke World No. 152 in the opening game of the second set before withdrawing from the competition.

The 20-year-old had started her season with a three-set victory over fellow Frenchwoman Harmony Tan.

Parry is having a successful year. She was a semifinals in Granby, a quarterfinalist in Portoroz, and will play in her fourth tour-level quarterfinal of the season on Friday, having previously reached the last eight in Palermo.

Veronika Kudermetova, the second seed, advanced to the Jasmin Open quarterfinals with a straight sets victory against Magdalena Frech of Poland.

Currently ranked no. 12 in the world in singles, the 25-year-old has had a fantastic season so far and is thriving in Monastir.

Kudermetova won the first round with a near-flawless performance, defeating compatriot Varvara Gracheva 6-1, 6-0. She also didn't lose a set in the second round, defeating Frech 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 34 minutes.

In the opening set, the Russian was overpowering, breaking her opponent twice and gaining a one-set lead. In the second set, she met heavy opposition from Frech, having to come back from a break down twice. Kudermetova eventually broke for the third time in the last game to move to the season's tenth quarterfinal.

The Russian, who is ranked fourth in doubles after winning two wins in five finals this year, has appeared in three WTA singles finals this year but has yet to add to her lone triumph from Charleston last year.
