Cam Norrie and Dan Evans, Britain's singles stars, have had varied results in Glasgow so far and will be aiming to bring it all together at the same time. Norrie excelled against the Americans, coming from a set down to upset world No.12 Taylor Fritz 2-6, 7-6(2), 7-5, but he couldn't overcome Botic van de Zandschlup's strength in his second encounter.

Evans, on the other hand, nearly fell to Tommy Paul in the Brits' first round, but came back with a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Tallon Griekspoor on Friday night.

The British, on the other hand, have lost two decisive doubles matches. It would be intriguing to watch if captain Leon Smith chooses Andy Murray and Joe Salisbury to strive for their maiden victory, or if he relies on the abilities of world No.3 Neal Skupski.

Kazakhstan is still a newcomer to the Davis Cup, having first competed in 1995, while Great Britain made their debut in the first edition of the competition in 1900. They just qualified for the world group in 2011 and have since reached the quarter-finals five times, most recently in 2018.

Bublik, world No.44, is the tie's wild card. You never know what to expect from Bublik, who is known for his flare and aggressive manner on the court. The 25-year-old has had a successful season, winning his first career championship in Marseille - defeating Alexander Zverev in the final - and reaching the final in Newport in July.

Kazakhstan is the only undefeated team in the Davis Cup Finals in Glasgow so far. Bublik also shone on the doubles court with Aleksandr Nedovyesov, winning both of their bouts in three sets.

The two sides have only met once, in the group stages of the 2019 FIFA World Cup in Madrid. The Brits won the day 2-1 when Kyle Edmund defeated Mikhail Kukushkin in straight sets and doubles combination Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski won the decider 6-1, 6-4 against Kukushkin and Alexander Bublik.
