Shai Hope produced a captain’s knock, smashing an unbeaten 120 off 94 balls to guide West Indies to a commanding 294/6 before Jayden Seales tore through Pakistan’s batting with sensational figures of 6-18 as the hosts romped to a 202-run win in the series decider at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Tarouba, on Tuesday.
West Indies, in trouble at 68/3, were revived by Hope’s calm authority and his ability to accelerate at the death. Supported by Roston Chase (36) and an explosive Justin Greaves (43 not out off 24 balls), Hope anchored an unbeaten 110-run seventh-wicket stand with Greaves to lift the Windies from 184/6 in the 42nd over to a series-winning total.

In that situation, it was important for someone to go deep. We had a target of 270–280 if we batted well in the last ten overs. We had a complete game today. Extremely proud of us beating Pakistan after so long. So many positives to shout about.
Greaves turns the game in final overs
Greaves, walking in at No. 8, turned the innings on its head with clean hitting — four fours and two sixes — as West Indies plundered 119 runs in the last 10 overs, their highest total of the three-match series.
For Pakistan, Naseem Shah (2-72) and Abrar Ahmed (2-34) were the most successful bowlers, but they were left with a daunting chase.
Seales dismantles Pakistan’s top order
If Hope’s century set up the match, Jayden Seales ensured there was no way back for Pakistan. Delivering a dream spell, Seales produced the third-best ODI figures by a West Indian — and the best ever against Pakistan — with his 6-18 off 7.2 overs. His four-wicket burst with the new ball reduced Pakistan to 23/4 inside nine overs, including key wickets of Babar Azam (9), Mohammad Rizwan (0), Saim Ayub (0) and Abdullah Shafique.
We had team plans and executed them. Analysts and bowling coaches showed me how to bowl in ODIs, and I’ve practised hard. The idea was to hit the stumps consistently on this pitch. Hopefully, I can keep this going.
Pakistan crumble under pressure
From 61/5 in the 20th over, Pakistan’s resistance ended swiftly. Salman Ali Agha (30) and Hasan Nawaz (13) briefly steadied the innings before Motie’s breakthrough reignited the collapse. Pakistan lost their last five wickets for just 31 runs, folding for 92 in 29.2 overs.
Skipper Rizwan admitted the match slipped away late in West Indies’ innings.

We were good for 40 overs. Maybe 220 would have been different. Credit to Hope — his power hitting was commendable. Seales made it difficult for us throughout the series. But losing three early wickets cost us.
Series summary
The result gave West Indies their first ODI series win over Pakistan in years, sealing a 2-1 victory. Pakistan, who took the T20I series by the same margin earlier, leave the Caribbean with mixed white-ball fortunes.
