West Indies ended their tour of Bangladesh on a high, with Romario Shepherd’s hat-trick triggering a dramatic late collapse that saw the hosts tumble from 107/2 to 151 all out in just over five overs at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium. Shepherd’s three wickets, spanning two overs, proved decisive in throttling Bangladesh’s innings.

I didn’t know about the hat-trick. I wasn’t trying to celebrate too much because there were four games left. Team-mates batted fantastically today. Batters showing we have good signs for the future.
When we batted, there was no dew, and the wicket was tough. They were lucky to bat second, but you can’t control these things. Tamim batted well, and I thought we had a decent score. Dropped chances at crucial times make things hard.
Windies Batters Seal The Sweep
Chasing 152, West Indies began cautiously but soon faced early trouble when Mahedi Hasan removed Alick Athanaze. Amir Jangoo accelerated with 34 off 23 balls, hitting five crisp boundaries and a massive six. The innings was anchored by Ackeem Auguste and Roston Chase, both registering fifties. Auguste’s flamboyant knock featured five sixes, while Chase notched his fourth T20I fifty. Although Rishad Hossain removed both Auguste and Chase in the 16th over, the Windies had already seized control.
Auguste is an impressive player. Been showing positive signs. He was struggling during his knock, so I just told him to keep playing his natural game. We lost the ODIs, so we didn’t want anything less than 3-0. It was lovely to be a part of the series.
Tanzid Shines But Support Falls Short
Earlier, Tanzid Hasan had anchored Bangladesh with a brilliant 62-ball 89, sharing a 63-run stand with Saif Hassan. However, successive wickets from Shepherd, Jason Holder, and Khary Pierre in the final overs ended any hopes of a competitive total. Shepherd’s hat-trick marked Bangladesh’s eighth T20I collapse to a single bowler, highlighting recurring fragilities in their batting line-up.
Brief Scores: Bangladesh 151 all out in 20 overs (Tanzid Hasan 89, Saif Hassan 23; Romario Shepherd 3-36, Jason Holder 2-32, Khary Pierre 2-23) West Indies 152/5 in 16.5 overs (Roston Chase 50, Ackeem Auguste 50, Amir Jangoo 34; Rishad Hossain 3-43). West Indies won by five wickets.
