The Chattogram Challengers have only managed to win one out of their last four matches in this season of the BPL. Initially, they had a great start by winning four out of their first five matches. In order to secure a spot in the playoffs, the Challengers need to regain their previous form. Unfortunately, they will have to face their upcoming match without Avishka Fernando, who was one of their top-performing batters before leaving for Sri Lanka to play international cricket against Afghanistan. Without Fernando, Tanzid Hasan will have a greater responsibility as he is currently the highest run-scorer for Chattogram in the 2024 BPL with 183 runs in eight innings.

Chattogram will heavily rely on the performance of Ireland all-rounder Curtis Campher and Oman seamer Bilal Khan to deliver with the ball. Together, they have taken 16 wickets with their impressive pace and accuracy. Khan, in particular, poses a significant challenge for the opposing batters due to his consistency and experience. If Khan continues to perform well, he may even receive an opportunity to join a team in the Pakistan Super League.

Dhaka has suffered nine consecutive losses and is unlikely to qualify for the next stage of the competition. However, if they manage to defeat the Challengers convincingly, it may provide them with a glimmer of hope for advancement, but they will need to secure more victories as well.

One player to keep an eye on is Naim Sheikh, who has been impressive with his batting. He showcased his skills with a score of 63 against the Comilla Victorians and has consistently made valuable contributions. Amidst the T20 World Cup preparations, Sheikh continues to display his ability to perform well under pressure, which catches the attention of the Bangladesh selectors.

It is interesting to note that despite being at the bottom of the standings, Dhaka has the leading wicket-taker of the tournament in Shoriful Islam. This talented left-arm seamer has taken 18 wickets in 10 matches during this BPL season, demonstrating an exceptional form.

The match will take place at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, which is known for its high-scoring nature. Throughout the current BPL season, teams have achieved first-innings scores over 200 and even beyond 180 at this venue. A first-innings score around 190 can be seen as competitive. The weather in Chattogram is expected to be hot and humid, with no rain predicted on the day of the match.

The Chattogram Challengers are expected to have a relatively easy time defeating Durdanto Dhaka. The Challengers possess a stronger batting and bowling lineup, making them a more formidable team.
