England's fortunes have sharply declined since a great opening to the home Tests this summer culminated in a loss at The Oval against Sri Lanka. But Ben Duckett has been scoring all right with bat-scoring provided by only Jamie Smith in the recent match at Headingley. Jofra Archer should return to the side as he was rested for the last game while Adil Rashid would get freshened up with playing at his home ground and crossing 200 ODI wickets.

Australia appears to have a more or less complete well-balanced side for the remainder of the tour with Mitchell Marsh's inclusion back into the side, along with veteran players Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Glenn Maxwell. Despite the opportunity to reserve some of the big guns, it wouldn't be a shock if Australia decided to play all their best batsmen for this second ODI at Durham. Starc and Hazlewood will lead the fast bowling spearhead, with Adam Zampa on hand for spin in the middle overs. Travis Head is expected to bat at the top. In doing so, he can look to carry on his successful ODI batting average above 60 since the onset of the year 2022.

This England team lacks some key players, and confidence seems to be down in the squad. However, Australia has been playing very well in cricket almost for a year now. Considering this scenario, we expect Australia to win again and take the series too. According to our forecast, the coming matches would favor Australia.
