The Indian team's relentless winning streak continued as they delivered a resounding victory over Sri Lanka on Thursday. With seven consecutive wins in as many matches, the hosts secured their place as the first team to reach the semifinals.

India's seam bowling attack has been exceptional in recent matches, consistently making early breakthroughs in the opposition's batting lineups. Mohammed Shami has been in exceptional form, amassing 14 wickets in just three matches. The mid-overs bowling has also been a notable strength for India, with Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav maintaining excellent line and length.

However, India's bowling unit faces a significant test as they confront arguably the most potent batting lineup in this World Cup. The absence of Hardik Pandya in the lineup leaves no room for error, necessitating a full quota of overs from each bowler.

Shifting the focus to batting, India's batting performance has been a cornerstone of the team's success. Rohit Sharma is in outstanding attacking form at the top of the order, while Virat Kohli consistently delivers his best performances on the grand stage. With Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer delivering crucial performances in the last match, India is brimming with confidence to take on any challenge.

Even though it wasn't part of the initial plans, having SKY (Suryakumar Yadav) in the playing eleven adds dynamism to India's team.

With the exception of the unexpected loss to the Netherlands earlier in the tournament, South Africa has displayed clinical performances as they systematically overcome their opponents. Much like India, South Africa will face a significant test in the upcoming Sunday match.

Quinton de Kock is in exceptional form with the bat, having scored four centuries in seven innings and emerging as the tournament's leading run-scorer. Although opening partner and captain Temba Bavuma has faced challenges, de Kock has found strong support from players like Aiden Markram, Rassie van der Dussen, and Heinrich Klaasen.

In the lower order, David Miller and Marco Jansen are powerful hitters and aim to bolster South Africa's batting performance during the death overs.

Jansen has also made a remarkable impact with the ball, leading the team's wicket-taking charts with 16 scalps. Alongside Gerald Coetzee, Kagiso Rabada, and Lungi Ngidi, they form a formidable seam attack. Keshav Maharaj has excelled in the spin department, claiming 11 wickets.

While South Africa boasts an impressive lineup, they may face challenges in their batting depth and could struggle if they lose early wickets. Additionally, their performance while chasing is not their forte.

Batting first has proven advantageous at the Eden Gardens, with the team setting a target winning 19 out of 32 completed matches here. Consequently, choosing to bat first appears favorable. South Africa typically prefers posting a total, while India has leaned towards chasing down scores. Therefore, the toss may not significantly impact the outcome. The Kolkata pitch is often dry with minimal moisture, offering a challenging playing surface that fosters an exciting contest between bat and ball. The pitch aids spinners due to its grip. Any total above 270 can be demanding to chase. Weather conditions are anticipated to be clear, with temperatures ranging from 27 to 32 degrees Celsius. With India and South Africa being strong contenders in this tournament, an engaging contest is expected. Although this is a challenging match to predict, we favor India to win. The hosts have demonstrated flawless gameplay, and given the pitch's difficulty for batting, India holds a slight advantage.

Wager on India for the victory.
