Lucknow started the 2024 IPL season strongly by winning three out of their first four matches. Their performance dipped afterwards, with just three more wins in the the next six fixtures. They are aiming for their first IPL trophy since their existance.

Lucknow's captain KL Rahul, leads the batting charts accumulating 406 runs in 10 innings with a noteworthy strike rate of 143. He has provided the kind of start Lucknow has been looking for. This is a departure from previous criticisms of his slower batting in past IPL editions. Lucknow's tailenders, Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran have made significant contributions. They have both scored over 300 runs for LSG this season.

Yash Thakur has been best bowler for Lucknow this season claiming 10 wickets so far. His pace attack partner Mohsin Khan has also impressed in the blue shirt bagging nine wickets and showcasing his prowess as one of the tournament's top left-arm seamers.

KL Rahul (c & wk), Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran, Ashton Turner, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Ravi Bishnoi, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mohsin Khan, Mayank Yadav. Impact Sub: Arshin Kulkarni.

The Knight Riders have maintained a 60 percent win rate in their last five matches. Similar to Lucknow, they experienced significant success at the beginning of the tournament, positioning themselves well for a playoff spot. Having secured titles in 2012 and 2014, KKR now seeks their third IPL championship a decade later. KKR this season are given great starts by Phil Salt and Sunil Narine. Salt has accumulated 397 runs compared to Narine's 378, with both players having batted 10 times. Their strike rates, exceeding 170 each, arguably establish them as the premier opening pair in the competition.

Kolkata has 3 bowlers with 13 wickets each and 3 others with 11 in their ranks. Narine, Harshit Rana, and Varun Chakravarthy have excelled both individually and as part of the bowling unit. They have a great spin attack which when works together is very difficult to play against for any team in the IPL. KKR anticipates the return of Rana for the upcoming match following his one-match suspension.

Philip Salt (wk), Sunil Narine, Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer (c), Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh , Mitchell Starc, Vaibhav Arora, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy. Impact Sub: Angkrish Raghuvanshi.

Kolkata lacks the advantage of a home ground, yet their bowling unit exhibits stronger form compared to Lucknow's. Additionally, the batting lineup of the Knight Riders is performing admirably.
