After a series of WT20 games, the Ireland Women's team is now preparing for an important series of WODI matches. Though they have managed to draw the WT20 series with the thrilling victory in the last match, the team is keen to have their first win against Sri Lanka Women in the 50-over format in the upcoming three-match series.

Gaby Lewis starred in the WT20 series with an aggregate of 158 runs in two innings with some great batting. Otherwise, it was modest stuff from Amy Hunter, who actually contributed quite a bit. In the final WT20 game, when Lewis struggled to grip her strokes, Lewis scored 119 runs off 75 balls.

Freya Sargent emerged as the top wicket-taker for Ireland Women with three wickets, making full use of the favorable bowling conditions. The 18-year-old lass showed promise and oodles of potential, a fruitful omen for the forthcoming series.

The Sri Lanka Women will be determined to keep their record intact of not losing a single WODI against the Ireland Women. In their previous meeting, Sri Lanka won the game by 146 runs. Chamari Athapaththu makes her comeback into the Sri Lanka team, and that in itself is big news for the squad because she is their leading run-scorer with 3006 runs. Athapaththu's presence adds strength to the batting line-up, especially after falling short in a chase during the last WT20 match. Harshitha Samarawickrama was the top scorer for Sri Lanka in the WT20 series as she concluded with 151 runs in two innings. The bowling performances are expected to improve in the upcoming ODI series since the pitch favoured pacers. Inoshi Priyadharshani, who picked two wickets in the WT20 series, will look to carry her form into the remaining games as well.

It was an upset defeat for Sri Lanka Women in the second and final WT20I match, which they lost to Ireland. Our expectations, though, are that they will bounce back and maintain their unbeaten record against Ireland in the upcoming WODI games. Our forecast is for a victory of the Sri Lanka Women.
