Kieron Pollard's team won the game against Los Angeles Knight Riders by four wickets in a nail-biting finish, finding a spot for the playoffs and climbing one step ahead of their rivals. If one considers the reigning champions, the team hasn't had the luck on their side to create magic this season since they have been struggling with consistency and needing a strong display in their next game.

Dewald Brevis had significant contributions in their last game and, along with Ruben Clinton, he will look to provide the side with a good start. Nicholas Pooran is the central batsman with the onus lying on him to stitch partnerships with Monank Patel and Steven Taylor to consolidate things. The lower middle order, consisting of Romario Shepherd, Kieron Pollard, and Rashid Khan, would be expected to score at a quick rate.

Trent Boult has had a tough season, and the team relies on him and Kagiso Rabada to secure early dismissals. Rashid Khan remains a major player with his tactical bowling in the middle overs. Nosthush Kenjige will back him up. Both Pollard and Romario Shepherd should come good with the bowling, especially since the Super Kings have a strong batting lineup.

It wasn't really the start that Faf du Plessis and his men would have wanted, but they gained momentum toward the end of the season. In the final match, they won against the Seattle Orcas by 37 runs to claim third place on the board. They had a victory over the MI New York earlier in the season, and du Plessis hopes that they can come out of that success. According to the captain, it has been a tough season with the ball, and he is banking on the team's bowlers to get their act together.

The opening pair of Devon Conway and du Plessis should provide a good platform up front, as the latter has been in phenomenal form this season with more than 300 runs to his name. In the middle order, Joshua Tromp and Milind Kumar could stitch good partnerships with Marcus Stoinis. With Calvin Savage and Stoinis in the lineup, their lower order looks quite strong on paper.

The bowling lineup has been a bit of a mixed bag. It will be looking at early breakthroughs, and Ottneil Baartman, together with Stoinis, is pivotal in this strategy to unsettle the MI New York side right from the word go. In the middle overs, Cameron Stevenson and Noor Ahmed are the ones who should really keep a tight lid on the kind of threat big hitters in the MI New York lineup can pose. Additionally, Calvin Savage, Mitchell Santner, and Dwayne Bravo will have to contribute some good support to keep their opponents at bay.

This is going to be an extremely competitive match. The Texas Super Kings did really well in some of the matches with their top-order batsmen, but their bowling department does not look that strong and hence could be a disadvantage to them. MI New York has a strong lineup of batsmen supported by well-experienced bowlers. Having these in line, MI New York is arguably the clear favorite for winning, mainly due to their powerful batting. It might prove to be a tough battle, but the advantage seems to be with the MI New York.
