West Indies was poised on the brink of making history, presenting the opportunity to clinch a bilateral international series victory against India for the first time since 2016. Nevertheless, their progress was halted as the visitors orchestrated a turnaround, securing victory in the 3rd T20 match. Despite this setback, West Indies maintains a series lead of 2-1, offering them another opportunity to claim the title.

Despite the defeat, West Indies will draw encouragement from the 3rd T20 and seek to capitalize on those positive aspects. Notably, Kyle Mayers and Brandon King provided the team with a solid opening for the first time in the series, establishing a stable 55-run partnership. Brandon King delivered his most impressive performance of this tour, amassing 42 runs at a run-a-ball rate.

In the middle order, Johnson Charles encountered difficulties in scoring, while Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell demonstrated bursts of ferocious form, emerging as pivotal batsmen for West Indies. Among the bowlers, seamers Alzarri Joseph and Romario Shepherd have each claimed 4 wickets, leading the new ball attack, with Obed McCoy contributing in a supportive role. Akeal Hosein stands as the sole full-time spinner within the team.

Indian supporters breathed a collective sigh of relief as the Men in Blue orchestrated a robust comeback, ensuring the series remains contested through a meticulous performance at the Providence Stadium. The team must now build upon this positive momentum and aim to clinch the series victory by prevailing in both of its upcoming matches.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, brought in as a replacement for Ishan Kishan, encountered a lacklustre debut in T20I, being dismissed for a mere 1 run in the opening over of the chase. Shubhman Gill's struggles in T20Is persisted, with his third consecutive single-digit score.

India ought to strive for a more consistent opening partnership in the shortest format. Suryakumar Yadav made a triumphant return to form, smashing a scintillating 83 runs from a mere 44 deliveries, effectively extinguishing any chance of a West Indies comeback.

Tilak Varma continued to impress, remaining unbeaten at 49, while captain Hardik Pandya contributed the finishing touches. The frontline Indian pacers have yet to reach their best in the T20 format. Arshdeep Singh and Mukesh Kumar have collectively secured a mere 5 wickets, conceding close to 9 runs per over.

The onus for the majority of impactful contributions lies with the spinners, as both Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have captured 4 wickets each. Their roles will remain pivotal in the upcoming two matches.

The pitch at Lauderdale offers favourable batting conditions in the initial stages, but its pace noticeably diminishes during the second inning. Historically, the average score for the first inning on this pitch is 165, while the second inning records an average of 123 runs. Notably, the highest successful run chase achieved on this ground is 98 runs. The second half of the match is anticipated to be advantageous for spinners, as the pitch is likely to provide ample assistance. Anticipate intermittent showers throughout the day, with the temperature hovering around the 30-degree Celsius mark. India will be hoping to level up the series and given the last game's performance, they are on their way to do so. Expect a low-scoring game.
