Like a cheetah slipping through the savannah at sunrise, Jane Ghati Chacha is poised to pounce once more—this time on South African soil.

After slicing through the Gqeberha streets earlier this year with a blazing 31:45 victory at the Absa RUN YOUR CITY 10K, the Kenyan dynamo now laces up for the Totalsports Women’s Race in Durban (3 August) and Cape Town (9 August)—two cities where the air will hum with pounding feet and possibility.

I entered the Durban and Cape Town Totalsports Women’s Races because they are well-organised events that attract strong athletes to the start line. I want to improve my PB in both cities while gaining experience.

Chacha’s strides are not just about speed—they’re symbolic. She understands the power of sport to amplify women’s voices.

Jane Ghati Chacha
Women are strong and independent in daily life, and sport gives us even more self-confidence. My message to the thousands of female athletes taking part is to be the best version of yourself today, so you can make your younger self proud.

Her presence isn’t just a headline—it’s a heartbeat.

Nikki Crous, Head of Marketing at Totalsports
We are incredibly excited to welcome Jane Chacha to the start line of the Totalsports Women’s Race in both Durban and Cape Town. Jane is a world-class athlete who brings an exciting level of elite competition to the event. Her presence elevates the racing experience for all participants. We’re honoured to have her as part of the Totalsports Women’s Race.

But there’s more than just pride and podiums on the line. The Durban leg will dangle a R1 million carrot—a groundbreaking incentive for the first woman to smash the Women’s Only 10km World Record. It’s a bold, trailblazing move by Totalsports and Stillwater Sports, igniting hopes that history could be rewritten beneath the coastal sunrise.

The Totalsports Women’s Race isn’t just about racing—it’s a rolling, rhythmic rebellion against silence. It supports PinkDrive, a lifeline in the fight against breast cancer, and celebrates sisterhood, strength, and survival. This year, the voice behind the rhythm is none other than Lady Zamar, whose soulful sounds will echo through Durban, Cape Town, and Johannesburg as thousands run in unity.

With cities primed, spirits high, and every woman a story in motion, Chacha’s chase is more than just for a personal best—it’s a pursuit of progress, pride, and purpose.
