Singapore's 1-Net revealed its public cloud service, Alchemy, has officially joined Canonical to be the Southeast Asia’s first Ubuntu certified public cloud service provider.

Alchemy is an IaaS platform designed to enable users to build and manage scalable infrastructures on demand.

As part of the agreement, 1-Net will also offer customers the latest Ubuntu images on a frequent basis, enabling users to build and manage scalable infrastructures on demand.

Alchemy and Canonical will offer support for multiple hypervisors and VM images, including Hyper-V, VMware, KVM and Oracle Xen; and end-user support from Canonical.

They also offer the ability to connect to public cloud, private cloud, and dedicated hardware based on individual demand.

“We understand that many enterprises are looking for cost-efficient and effective cloud solutions as well as data center services. The next wave of cloud development will be centered along the line of “open base” architecture, driven by a cloud centric instead of a virtualization centric approach,” 1-Net Singapore managing director Wong Ka Vin said.
