A fault in the new AAG cable has hit internet connectivity in Brunei.
Telekom Brunei has warned users to expect slow connections or cuts in service because of a fault at AAG’s landing station at Lantau, Hong Kong.
The “international uplink” has been out since August 27 and will not be back in service until September 7, a TelBru spokesperson told the Brunei Times.
The $500 million club cable launched in April, delivering 655 Mbps to the southeast Asian state. Backed by AT&T, Bharti, BT, StarHub and others, it links southeast Asia to the US via Guan and Hawaii.
A fault on the AAG cable in June also disrupted Malaysian internet services.
