India's Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular have wasted no time in taking advantage of the recent tribunal verdict allowing them to resume their 3G network sharing pact.

The operators have already resumed offering 3G services over each others' networks in areas where they lack spectrum, the Economic Timesreported.

The three companies signed 3G roaming pacts in 2011 to make up for the fact that no operator was able to acquire spectrum in all 22 Indian telecom circles during the 2010 3G auction.

But India's Department of Telecom (DoT) objected to the trilateral deal on the grounds that the agreements violated 3G auction terms, and eventually ordered the operators to put an end to the agreement.

Airtel, Vodafone and Idea appealed the order, and India's Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) recently found in favor of the operators.

The DoT is expected to appeal the decision with India's Supreme Court, so the resumption of the pact may prove temporary.
