Apple has filed suit against Samsung alleging patent violation again, this time in Samsung's home market of South Korea.
The lawsuit, filed on Friday, makes the same charges as the case filed in the US in April – that Samsung's Galaxy line copies substantively from the iPhone and the iPad and therefore infringes on patents and trademarks.
The suit requests that Samsung be prevented from selling Galaxy products, and demands 100 million won ($92,700) in compensation, the Korea Heraldreported.
As well as crying copycat over the physical design and software UI layout, Apple insists that touch-scrolling and the act of holding down icons to open a context menu are protected by its patents.
Samsung countersued Apple for alleged patent violation case shortly after Apple filed its initial complaint in the US.
But the dispute may be settled out of court. Reutersreports that an Apple lawyer has confirmed that executives at the highest levels of both companies are in talks over finding a resolution, in response to the court's suggestion that an alternative solution be explored.
With the notoriously litigious Apple last week winning a patent covering some aspects of touchscreen technology in smartphones, the company may soon ramp up its patent lawsuit activity even further.
