Belgacom and NUMERGY entered into discussions in order to develop a “Cloud Team Alliance” that would enable them to internationalize their coverage and to offer a real alternative to currently active players in the market.
The aim of this cooperation would be to enable Belgacom in the future to offer its customers a cloud infrastructure localized in France, while NUMERGY could offer its French customers a cloud infrastructure in the countries where Belgacom and its Telindus subsidiaries operate.
In this way, the two companies would increase their range and geographic coverage in all types of Cloud, in order to meet the different needs of their European and global customers, particularly in terms of security and with European and local compliance.
The Cloud Team Alliance as envisaged today by Belgacom and NUMERGY could be extended to other partners. This is a first step in the creation of business alliance based on a European network and resources, and could constitute a real European alternative to the offers of American and Asian players.
This initiative should enable Belgacom to strengthen its offer of IT infrastructure in the Cloud sector. Belgacom offers its customers a variety of solutions, ranging from the public Cloud (a service provided with the capacities of its partners) to the private Cloud (a service provided from the data centers of its own customers). This is a major asset in a fast-growing national and international market.
