Ong Geok Chwee joins Bridge Alliance as CEO
Bridge Alliance has appointed Ong Geok Chwee (pictured) as chief executive officer, effective March 26.
Ong, who joins the mobile operator alliance with over 20 years of experience in the infocomm technology industry, has driven business and market development for emerging technologies and businesses in large companies like Singtel.
Commenting on the appointment, Bridge Alliance chairman Mark Chong said, "Geok Chwee has made her name in the ICT sector as an evangelist of open collaboration and a driver of innovation and new growth engines. Her track record of championing emerging businesses like the Internet of Things, big data analytics and software-as-a-service, lends edge to her new role"
Bridge Alliance represents 34 mobile operators with an aggregated subscriber base of 800 million across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. Its members include: Airtel, AIS, CSL Mobile, CTM, Globe Telecom, Maxis, MobiFone, Optus, Singtel, SK Telecom, STC, SoftBank, Taiwan Mobile, Telkomcel, Telkomsel, Turk Telekom, and Viva.
Ericsson names Dedullen chief legal officer as Nina Macpherson retires
Ericsson has hired Xavier Dedullen as senior vice president, chief legal officer and head of legal affairs and compliance, effective from April 1. He will also become a member of the company’s executive team on the same date.
Dedullen succeeds Nina Macpherson, who will retire on March 31 after working with the company for 22 years. He joins Ericsson from LafargeHolcim, where he served most recently as group general counsel and chief compliance officer at the Switzerland-based building materials manufacturer.
“I want to thank Nina for her contributions to Ericsson. During her 22 years with the company, whereof the last seven as chief legal officer, Nina together with her team, has played an important part in supporting the business through a period of rapid industry change,” said Börje Ekholm, chief executive officer of Ericsson.
In addition, Ericsson has also promoted Erik Ekudden, its chief technology officer, to SVP, CTO and member of the company’s executive team, reporting to Ekholm, effective April 1.
“Erik Ekudden leads our technology strategy, a key enabler for our customers’ success as we are on the brink of the next big technology shift lead by 5G and IoT. Erik will bring important perspectives to the executive Team and I am pleased to have him come on board,” Ekholm commented.
