(Xinhua via NewsEdge) China Mobile has restarted negotiation with Apple on introducing iPhone into the Chinese mainland, according to Shanghai Securities News.

Apple had contacted Chinese carriers including China Mobile on releasing 2G iPhone at the end of 2007, but failed because it insisted on sharing at least 20% of the operators' profits.

Finally, Apple gave up its customary mode of profit split in order to set foot on the international market earlier.

China Mobile has not nailed down the schedule of iPhone's entrance nor which version will be introduced in, said a spokesman of the company.

The 3G version of iPhone will be released to market on July 11 synchronously in 22 countries and regions including US, UK, and Hong Kong.

Industrial insiders released that iPhone might be available in Chinese mainland by the end of this year.

Statistics show that 6 million sets of iPhone have been sold since it was released to market last June, and the cooperation between Apple and China Mobile could make the sales volume even greater.
