China Telecom has teamed up with Malaysian managed service and data center provider AIMS Group to broaden its IP sales capacity and help roll out IP-VPN services.

Under the agreement, AIMS will become a reseller for China Telecom's IP routes and Chinese data center capacity for Malaysian businesses looking to expand into China.

AIMS and China Telecom will also jointly roll out IP-VPN services to cater to the expected increasing demand for Chinese internet content from within the Malaysian market.

“China Telecom’s partnership with AIMS is also with the objective of attracting ISPs and IDC providers in Malaysia to do business with [us],” China Telecom Malaysia president Li Jun said.

“Indeed, this partnership marks an important milestone in China Telecom’s supporting role to complement Malaysia in establishing itself as ASEAN regional hub for telecommunications.”

The operator last week announced a separate partnership deal with Australia-based Telstra Global. As part of this deal, Telstra Global expanded its IP-VPN network into China, through connections in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai supplied by China Telecom.
