Chinese handset maker mobile handset company Ramar International plans to embed mobile social networking app GyPSii in soon-to-be-launched Amsam phones.

The news comes two months after Northern European company GeoSentric Oyj, the producers of GyPSii, said it had entered into a map-licensing agreement with Nav2, a Shanghai-based provider of digital map data, to gain access to that company's China map database.

The agreement has provisions for revenue sharing between GyPSii's makers and Ramar based on current business models for mobile social networking including advertising.

GyPSii will also get license revenues from Ramar for pre-bundling of its app on the devices, according to GeoSentric.

GyPSii makes full use of both the camera and GPS functions of Ramar's devices, according to Shelley He, Ramar vice president of business development and sales.

'With this deal, Ramar can bring these features to market faster and become the first handset company in China to deliver these features within a single user experience," she said.

GyPSii will initially be available on Amsam devices in both traditional and simplified Chinese, Ramar said.
