As CITIC Telecom CPC powers its customers’ business expansion plans, the ICT solutions provider is expanding its own footprint.

Stephen Ho, CEO of CITIC Telecom, said in an interview the company plans to extend its presence to more locations in mainland China as well as in other relatively large markets in the Asia Pacific, particularly Indonesia and the Philippines.

At the same time, CITIC Telecom is spreading out in North America through a partnership with One Source Networks. By interconnecting with OSN via a network-to-network interface in California, CITIC Telecom enhances service coverage in that continent as well as connectivity options for the company's new and existing customers in Asia, North America and Europe.

This builds on the 60 points of presence that CITIC Telecom has deployed globally, including ones in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam Thailand, Australia as well as London and New York.

“We will continue to invest our in cloud infrastructure as we currently operate seven cloud services centers (CSCs) across Asia Pacific,” said Ho, referring to two CSCs in Hong Kong and one each in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Taiwan and Singapore. “We target to launch the eighth CSC this year.”

Part of the global expansion strategy, Ho explains, is to extend its software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering and applications running on the cloud by forming more strategic alliances. That is, while sustaining the company’s effort in the infrastructure-as-a-service area on the back of the various POPs in Asia Pacific.

Asked what key factors are driving the growth in demand for CITIC Telecom’s enterprise VPN and cloud services, Ho cited the company’s range of ICT solutions -- including advanced MPLS VPN, information security and cloud infrastructures – that seamlessly interoperate and complement each other and directly address real-world needs of enterprise customers.
