Asia's Conexus Mobile Alliance has revealed plans to explore the provision of LTE roaming services between its members.

The operator group has revealed that its members will jointly introduce LTE data roaming services once the necessary solutions are in place.

The collaboration is aimed at stimulating the mobile industry's development and adoption of LTE roaming.

Conexus members with live LTE networks include NTT DoCoMo - which became one of the first operators to launch LTE in December 2010 – as well as Korea Telecom and Hutchison Hong Kong.

Singapore's StarHub plans to launch services in the fourth quarter, and the Philippines' Smart is currently upgrading its network to be LTE-ready

The remaining Conexus member companies are Indonesia's Indosat, Taiwan's FarEasTone, Vietnam's Vinaphone, Thailand's TrueMove and India's BSNL and MTNL.

LTE roaming is becoming a hot topic as operator commitments to the technology and 4G subscriber figures continue to swell.

Earlier this month, Hong Kong's CSL and South Korea's SK Telecom revealed that they will launch what is expected to be the world's first international LTE roaming service between the two operators' networks in July.
