F-Secure boosts smartphone security with Mobile Security 6 featuring browsing protection that identifies which websites are safe to enter and which should be avoided. Harmful sites designed to spread malware or to steal your online identity, such as banking details, are automatically blocked to ensure a totally safe web experience.

Also packed in the F-Secure Mobile Security 6 is the Premium Anti-theft with Locator feature, which makes it possible to locate the phone (or a person holding the phone) on a map. With Anti-theft users can also lock or erase confidential data remotely and get informed on who stole your phone via SMS.

F-Secure Mobile Security 6 also protects smartphones against all types of malicious software. The Anti-Virus, Firewall and Anti-Spyware features included in the software protect against mobile viruses, spying tools, worms and trojans.

The company has also released the F-Secure Anti-theft for Mobile product and F-Secure Mobile Security, which includes the browsing protection feature, for smartphones on the Android platform. Android is the open source mobile platform developed by the Open Handset Alliance.

The anti-theft feature includes remote lock, theft control and remote wipe functionalities. The remote lock can be used to lock the device easily with a single SMS message. The theft control feature activates when the SIM card is changed by locking the phone and sending the new SIM information to the owner. As an ultimate safety measure to prevent misuse, it is possible to erase all the data on the phone with remote wipe by sending an SMS message.
