Singapore's M1 has upgraded its voice-mail service for 3G users to allow callers to leave video messages for subscribers when they are not reachable on a video call.

The new Videomail services, which was introduced in April, also indicates a caller's mobile phone number in the SMS alert for message retrieval, allowing the subscriber to know who has tried to contact them via video or voice calls.

The basic Videomail service is free and available to all 3G post-paid customers.  Users can upgrade to Videomail Plus to enjoy features such as personalized greeting messages and receipt of video messages via MMS by paying S$5 ($3.70) a month. Prevailing video and voice call airtime charges apply when retrieving messages.
