The Philippines' Globe Telecom revealed its FY13 revenue grew 9% to a record 82.7 billion pesos ($1.83 billion) on the back of mobile and fixed data gains.

The revenue growth helped Globe improve its core net income for the year by 13% to 11.6 billion pesos. But including the impact of costs associated with the company's network transformation program, net profit fell 28% to 4.96 billion pesos.

Mobile data revenues were up 8% for the year, while broadband data revenues improved 20%.

Total mobile revenues increased 8% year-on-year to 72.8 billion pesos. Globe's total mobile customer base grew 16% to 38.5 million, with postpaid customers increasing 17% over the same period to to around 2 million.

For the fourth quarter, growth was softened by the impact of the typhoon Haiyan disaster, with gross revenues growing just 2% to 23.3 billion pesos.

“Notwithstanding the impact of the recent devastation in the Visayas region due to typhoon “Haiyan”, which tempered the seasonal uplift in the fourth quarter, we still managed to end the year at a high note reaching all-time high gross consolidated revenues,” Globe CEO Ernest Cu said.

“While the resilience of our performance is welcome, we will not be complacent and will strive harder in 2014.”
