Huawei has unveiled what is said to be the industry’s first LTE TDD wireless backhaul solution, eRelay, designed to address small cell transmission challenges and ease constraints on transmission resources when small cells are deployed.
Huawei’s formulation of the eRelay solution is based on the analysis of micro base station deployments.
The solution uses SingleRAN’s unified hardware platform, advanced LTE technology, 256 high-order QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) and MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) technology -- providing wider bandwidth and greater transmission capacity.
Working in the same way as microwave transmissions, eRelay uses NLOS (non-line of sight) transmission, and is also able to support PtMP (point-to-multipoint) transmission.
