Under the agreement, Netplus will deploy Nokia's GPON technology to cater to growing demand for higher capacity, speeds and quality.

Initial deployments will focus on the states of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Netplus will use the upgraded network to provide high-speed broadband, IPTV and quad play services.

"The demand for high speed and quality broadband is increasing across the country. Our network infrastructure will allow us to provide best-in-class broadband network to our subscribers.
