India's Videocon Telecom has set a December target for the launch of FDD LTE services.

The company plans to roll out services starting in 10 towns in Gujarat, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh, CEO Arvind Bali told the Economic Times.

Videocon is aiming to be India's first operator to launch FDD LTE services, and is planning a whole range of products built around 4G, including IPTV.

Bali said the company will plan its rollout around areas where demand for high-speed mobile broadband is high, and this may include areas where the company is not yet offering 2G services.

The operator will explore taking advantage of a new government policy allowing for spectrum trading and sharing between operators.

Videocon acquired 1800-MHz spectrum in eight circles during an auction in November 2012, and has revealed plans to use this spectrum for its LTE network.
