Nearly three quarters of Apple investors have lost faith in the firm’s ability to innovate, heaping more pressure on the vendor after it lost ground to Samsung in 1Q13.

A global Bloomberg poll found 71% of investors believe Apple has lost its edge, compared to 23% who back the firm as a market leader. However, the majority of investors who have currently lost faith (43%) think the firm will bounce back, with the remaining 28% disagreeing.

Apple’s shares have fallen nearly 40% year-on-year after Samsung increased its lead at the top of the smartphone market in 1Q13. Analysts are also concerned about Apple’s ability to innovate, stating that the next iPhone must be a winner.
