ITpreneurs, a provider of IT training content and services, and the Open Networking Foundation (ONF), a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the adoption of open SDN, announced a partnership to offer exam testing for the ONF-Certified SDN Associate (OCSA) certificate, developed as part of the ONF-Certified SDN Professional (OCSP) Program.

With the rapid adoption of SDN into enterprise infrastructures, the demand for trained engineers, developers, and sales and marketing professionals in this space has increased significantly.

To meet this increased demand, ONF developed the OCSP Program, providing a strong foundation of vendor-neutral knowledge and skills validation of foundational concepts and advanced technical components, complementing vendor-specific certifications in SDN.

Rick Bauer, director of technical programs, Open Networking Foundation said, “ONF’s development of the OCSP Program is in response to the ever-growing need for those within the open SDN industry to validate their knowledge, skills, and abilities within this changing field.”

The OCSA certification exam is available at a cost of $150 for non-members and $134 for ONF members. The second certification, available in mid-2016, is targeted at SDN professionals who are actively engaged in the technical components of networking and/or SDN ecosystems. The ONF-Certified SDN Engineer (OCSE) certification will validate technical skills, knowledge and advanced concepts required for developers in this environment. The certification exam is available at a cost of $239 for non-members and $179 for ONF members.

Certification exams can be taken online (webcam proctored) or with training providers who offer SDN training.
